ACPO comment on the cooperation across the criminal justice system in response to the disorder

ACPO President, Sir Hugh Orde said,

“There has been tremendous cooperation between the police, Crown Prosecution Service and the courts over the last week. We have seen courts working all night and over the weekend to process the very large number of offenders swiftly and keep them off the street.

“Police forces are continuing to arrest offenders and we are grateful for the ongoing support and cooperation of the public in identifying those who committed these offences.

“We continue to be grateful to the Home Secretary for her support in coordinating the response from all aspects of criminal justice and we look forward to her speech tomorrow.”
