ACPO response to Home Secretary request to identify stop and search best practice

ACPO lead for stop and search, Chief Constable Craig Mackey said,

"ACPO supports the proper use of stop and search and its associated powers to tackle the problems facing our communities. We recognise the sensitive nature of the power, and are clear that stop and search is at its most effective when it has the full support of the community.

"We will work with the Home Office to identify best practice in the use of stop and search powers and will ensure the service learns from any lessons that are identified."
