ACPO lead on citizens in policing supports the launch of a new website to encourage younger members and more communities to get involved with Neighbourhood Watch
ACPO lead for citizens in policing, Deputy Chief Constable Rob Beckley, said:
"There can’t be a stronger example of ‘Big Society’ in action than Neighbourhood Watch. For nearly 30 years, members of the scheme have been taking action to make the areas where they live feel safer and reduce crime and the potential for crime. As a police service, we need to do everything possible to make sure members are having the biggest impact possible and fully support the work they are doing or would like to do in their communities.
"By using the most up to date technology available we can support communities in achieving that ambition, keeping them up to date about what is going on, sharing and receiving information in the fastest and easiest way possible.”
