As people cast their votes in the General Election, police forces are updating security in line with the threat level
National Police Chiefs Council lead for Protective Security, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Lucy D’Orsi said:
“Security around polling stations is constantly being reviewed and updated by local police forces. Plans are in place to make sure that resources are appropriately allocated and that these plans are flexible and can be enhanced at short notice should it become necessary.
“The general threat level remains at Severe, so we continue to ask the public to be alert and to report any concerns to police. We appreciated that these are unprecedented times and together with our partners we continue to do everything we can to help protect the public.”
