In light of recent events, a meeting took place with the police, IPSA and the Parliamentary Security Department to review MPs security and consequently number of additional security measures were introduced.
An NPCC Spokesman said:
“Security arrangements for MPs are taken very seriously and are kept under constant review by police and the Parliamentary Security Department. Following the horrific murder of Jo Cox in June, police have been working with MPs to ensure that appropriate security measures are taken to protect elected representatives and allow them to conduct their public duties free from intimidation and interference”.
