Police forces in England and Wales are focussing on a month-long campaign to tackle drink and drug driving.
Chief Constable Anthony Bangham, National Police Chiefs’ Council lead for Roads Policing said:
“This summer’s campaign has been organised to fit in with the World Cup and officers will be out once again enforcing the law and educating motorists on the dangers of driving under the influence.
“We want all road users to enjoy the summer but most importantly we want drivers to take responsibility for themselves and others and stay safe. Do not drink and drive.
“We will also focus our activities on the morning after; if there is any doubt that you may still be under the influence, the safest option is to not drive. Do not put lives at risk”.
